1. Development of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems

The development of a quality or food safety management system can be confusing with not knowing whether a procedure, policy or both are required.

We will advise you on the standard that best meets the organization’s needs. All the documentation for the organization’s system will then be developed in accordance to the standard requirements.

The food safety system standards/scheme to choose from is:

  • FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification 22000 (scheme)

  • ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems- Requirements for any Organization in the Food Chain

  • SANS 10330

  • ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 Prerequisite Programmes on food safety – Part 1: Food Manufacturing

  • SANS 10049, Food Safety Management – Requirements for  pre-requisite  programs (PRP’s)

  • PAS 223 Prerequisite Programmes and Design requirements for Food Safety in the Manufacture and Provision of Food Packaging

The quality system standard is:

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems - Requirements

We can also develop a system in accordance to the organization’s customer requirements, if required.

2. Implementation of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems

The first stage of implementation is understanding the standard requirements as well as knowing and understanding your organization’s own policies and procedures.

We will train all relevant stake holders on the standard requirements. Training will also be done, with the relevant stakeholders, on all the system documentation.

We will guide you, step by step, on the implementation process and provide advice on the best way/s of implementing an effective system.

3. Maintenance & Improvement of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems

Once developed and implemented the pain staking task is keeping the system alive and working. We have found that constant policing is required to prevent a collapse of the system.

We will conduct onsite visits, at regular intervals to assist in keeping the system alive and up to date. The visits will include inspecting documents, records and premises.  This will assist in ensuring that the documents are relevant, that the records are being correctly completed and that the premises conform to the required standards.

4. Training

We offer the following on site trainings, for all levels of staff:

  • FSSC 22000 Food Safety System certification 22000

  • ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems- Requirements for any Organization in the Food Chain

  • SANS 10330 Requirements for a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) System

  • Prerequisite Programs

  • Internal Auditing

Induction & Food Safety Videos & Posters

5. Auditing

Auditing is a value adding tool, if performed correctly, for an organization to identify the non-conformances and deal with them, preventing a loss of control of a system.

Our auditor is registered with the South African Auditing & Training Certification Authority (SAATCA).

We perform the following audits:

  • Internal Auditing covering Food Safety Management Systems based on SANS 10330:2007, ISO 22000:2005, ISO 9001:2015 & FSSC 22000:2013 requirements.  These audits can be complimented with advice on documentation, implementation of policies and procedures and compilation of risk assessments.

  • Supplier  Audits

  • Gap Assessment  Audits

  • Plant Pre-requisite  Program Audits

  • Hygiene  & Housekeeping  Audits

6. Supplier Quality Assurance

Developing, implementing and maintaining a Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Program is as complex as developing, implementing and maintaining a quality or food safety management system.

We will develop, implement and maintain your organization’s SQA program, with all the required documentation, to ensure that your suppliers conform to your requirements. The program will include supplier audits as a part of maintaining the program.
